The Best Restaurants & Bars in L.A. to Feed Your Inner Child
Gourmet comfort food and boozy milkshakes for the young at heart
Quirky is the name of the game at this small, lively eatery with a pink and teal exterior and a kitschy diner-esque interior that is oh-so-Instagram-ready. Located a bit off the beaten path in Silver Lake, this most curious eatery is co-owned by Coly Den Haan (founder of Downtown L.A.’s Perch) and Dean Harrada of Earl’s Gourmet Club. Adult kids will release their inner child with dishes such as goldfish mac n’ cheese and the fluffernutter sandwich.
The house specialty is fried rice, but waist-conscious adults can substitute the carbs with cauliflower rice. The basic LA Fried Rice dish comes with avocado, pickled onions and jalapenos, avocado salsa verde, and a fried egg—but you can add other choices with more proteins. Also, do not miss the vegan milkshakes! You might want a take a walk down the street and check out the owners’ new wine store, Vinovore, which spotlights female winemakers.
